Research in the lab is centered on the theme of gaining a greater understanding of plant the plant hormone cytokinin and its role in development.
Our specific focus on how to do that is centered on the study of a set of transcription factors known as CRFs or Cytokinin Response Factors.
We have also branched out to study N-Conjugated forms of Cytokinin. How they may function as “active” cytokinins in senescence and potentially during stresses.
Research in the lab is conducted using molecular, genetics, and physiological approaches to study cytokinin-related processes during both development and abiotic stress responses. This work occurs in both the model system Arabidopsis and the crop plant tomato.
